Someone recently asked me what the name of this blog meant – just like any other – and what the “I’m ready” meant.
Both are lines from the Jack’s Mannequin song “I’m Ready.”
It’s a great song, and the lyrics seem to change with what emotion you assign to it.
Some people read it as a song about the end of a relationship, some read it as a song about the beginning of a relationship.
For me? I take it as a song of hope, of change. Of shucking off the past and being ready to face the world anew.
The first line of the song is “I’m on the verge, I’m on the verge.”
I like to think that over the last year I’ve been on the verge. I’ve finally shaken off the shackles of my past and am becoming the person that I feel like I’m supposed to be.
And you know what?
I’m ready.
