week in review

Week in review – 12.20.2020

I know, I’m a day late. We went to a Christmas party Saturday night, didn’t get home until late, got two hours of sleep as we both had to be up early for work, came home and slept for 12 hours until it was time to get up this morning to go back to work.

Last week was pretty good. Work was good, home was good. I got a lot of stuff done at both work and home. Took some time for me. Went out of my comfort zone and hung out with Mike’s people on Saturday night.

I did manage to get all of the Christmas cards out and all of the gifts wrapped for the family for this week.

To be honest, I really can’t wait for this week to be over. Next week is also going to be kind of nuts, but not nearly what this week is going to be. January is always one of my favorite times of the year – the weather generally sucks, but life is a lot calmer. The holidays are over, there’s no major social engagements with the exception of meeting a friend or two for dinner one night. Work will significantly calm down. There will be time to sit around and watch something on Netflix and work on my blanket, time to sit around and read.

Speaking of reading, I topped the year at 40 books – my most in awhile (past years I’ve come in around 25-30). I read some real crap this year, but I also read some phenomenal books. So I’m taking a break from reading for a week and then starting fresh after the New Year. I’m giving myself one week of scrolling mindlessly through Reddit and social media without feeling guilty that I could be reading something worthwhile.

So this isn’t the normal week in review, but there was nothing, really, that happened last week of any kind of note.

That’s it for now. Stay safe, friends!
